850 Music Blog Reviews Sticky Tea

Here is a review the band recently discovered at 850 Music Blog.

"First off – big congratulations to Sticky Tea for being an official part of 2011′s Thunder Beach! You can see all of their upcoming show dates on their official Reverb page: http://www.reverbnation.com/stickytea

Sticky Tea is part blues and part southern rock – with a great rotation of cover songs from more current tunes like the Black Crowes to long time hit makers like the Rolling Stones and 70′s rock like the Steve Miller Band.

The two guitar players (all the way on the left and right sides of the photo) not only trade lead guitar positions, but they also trade lead vocal. A combination that works really well as one is wonderful at the gravely sound of true southern rock and the other has a undeniably soulful sound – which they are very smart about their song catalog and playing into each other strengths.

Another nice edition is the slide guitar – a rich sound that you just don’t hear that many local rock bands do – and do well.

Beyond the fact that they sound really solid - I have a lot of respect for these fellows’ work ethic. They are constantly playing shows, working to get their name out there, and enjoying playing. And Sticky Tea – with your slot at Thunder Beach locked in, it looks like all the hard work is paying off."
